Polytec Intralogistics has developed a tailor-made solution to optimize internal pallet handling in a food production facility, also active in the frozen food sector. The goal was to improve operational efficiency, ensure real-time traceability, and raise safety standards.

The implemented system uses automated guided vehicles (AGVs) to manage logistics flows across two main areas. The AGVs handle the transfer of finished pallets from the production lines to the wrapping station, while also distributing empty pallets to the various workstations according to operational needs. Once wrapping is completed, the AGVs transport the pallets to the automated warehouse, following dedicated paths and operating entirely autonomously.

The introduction of AGV technology has significantly reduced the risk of accidents by eliminating the use of manual forklifts and enhancing safety even in shared areas. Equipped with advanced sensors and intelligent navigation software, the vehicles move precisely and safely, while all tasks are coordinated by a centralized system that optimizes routes and prevents operational conflicts.

Thanks to this automation, the facility has achieved a significant improvement in internal logistics management, increasing productivity while making the workplace safer and more sustainable.
